The Working Principle of Chinadrip Combination Air Valve
August 22 , 2024
Why do we need to install air valves in irrigation systems?
Imagine that when the pump is turned on, there is a pipe that carries water to the field. The water starts to flow through the pipe, but at a high point, air accumulates, creating a high pressure point. The air cannot be discharged from the pipe at this point, which will lead to the reduction of the cross-sectional area of the water flow and seriously affect the smooth flow of water in the pipeline system. When the pump stops working, the water continues to flow forward due to inertia, resulting in a negative pressure state in the pipeline behind the water flow. With the increase of the pressure difference between the atmosphere and the inside air, pipe will even be squeezed and deformed.
On one hand, the combination air valve can discharge a large accumulated air from the pipe, ensuring it is filled with water and operates smoothly. At the same time, the valve can automatically and continuously release a small amount of air from the pipe, further reducing the occurrence of system issues.
On the other hand, when the pump is turned off or fails, the valve will open automatically. Air enters the pipe in time and effectively balances the pressure inside and outside the pipe. These mechanisms help the pipeline system operate smoothly, reduce energy consumption, and extend the service life of the pipeline system.
